[Nov 2019: This post has been edited to reflect changes to the cover art, editorial team, and publication date. Full disclosure: since this post was initially published, I have joined the team as co-editor.]

We’re thrilled to offer our readers an exclusive first look at the cover art for House of Leaves Publishing’s forthcoming Scared Sacred: Idolatry, Religion and Worship in the Horror Film. Collecting writings on religion in horror cinema from leading academics, historians, and critics, the book will be released early in 2020.

The cover features original artwork by Jeremy Thompson, digital artwork by John Sowder, and design layout by Euan Monaghan. The cross, which takes inspiration from designs by the late Simon Sayce, will be foiled in silver. An alternative cover will also be available for a limited edition hardcover.

The incredible roster of contributors was recently revealed via Rue Morgue (you may find quite a few familiar names on it!) To register interest and pre-order your copy, head over to holpublishing.com
