Neon Demon Preview Screening in Toronto
The Rue Morgue’s monthly CineMacabre movie night will feature a special sneak preview of Nicolas Winding Refn’s hotly anticipated and visually arresting The Neon Demon. Part melodrama and part horror with shades of giallo, this sexy psychological thriller about the dangerous lives of fashion models stars Elle Fanning, Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves, and Jena Malone. Screening is on Thursday, June 16th at 8:00. Tickets still available here.
What’s in a Name?
The blanket of secrecy surrounding Shane Black’s new Predator reboot, aptly named The Predator, has lifted just the barest amount, enough for us to learn the new lead character’s name – Quinn MacKenna. Black released the name during an interview with Empire. It’s not the most substantial or revealing piece of information, but I’ll take it for now. Oh, and Quinn could also be a girl’s name – just saying!

IFC Will Offer Antibirth
Experimental filmmaker and Animal Collective collaborator Danny Perez’s Antibirth has been picked up by IFC Midnight. The film stars Natasha Lyonne and Chloe Sevigny as hard-partying roommates who face a disturbing and potentially lethal situation after a night that gets a little out of control.

I was very excited when I heard that the marvellous Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Queen of Earth) was set to star in the upcoming Alien: Covenant, directed by Ridley Scott. Now, rumour has it that the character she is playing just may end up being Ellen Ripley’s mother! What do you think about this (possible) revelation?
